The regular undergraduate programme in Economics, which commenced in the 2000-2001 academic year, continues to be offered. Second-shift Economics Bachelor's Degree education commenced in the 2002-2003 academic year. However, due to insufficient demand for second-shift education in Turkey, and in accordance with the decision taken at the meeting of the YÖK Executive Board on 17 October 2018, Second-shift Economics education was discontinued in the 2020-2021 academic year, in line with the request to close second-shift programmes with fewer than 10 registered students. 
The Thesis-based Economics Master's programme, opened in the 2003-2004 academic year by the Gaziosmanpaşa University Institute of Social Sciences with session no. 2003/3 and decision no. 01 dated 31 January 2003, continues to operate. The Second Cycle Non-Thesis Economics and Finance Master's programme, opened in the 2012-2013 academic year by the Institute of Social Sciences at Gaziosmanpaşa University with session no. 2012/01-02 and decision no. dated 12 November 2012, was closed in 2014 due to insufficient student demand. 
The Economics Doctorate programme was opened in the 2012-2013 academic year by the Institute of Social Sciences at Gaziosmanpaşa University on 19 September 2011, session 2011/04 and decision no. 2011/01-02.

The purpose of the Department of Economics undergrate program ,is to acquire  students academic discipline about economic issues , equipping them  with the theoretical and empirical   knowledge , level to solve encountered economic problems in the national and international area.In this context , in the deparment of economics, students can take lessons about business, public finance,and law as well as economics discipline.With this wide range of alumni graduates can take place in the private  and public sector with a lot of job oppurtunities.Graduates take an undergradute diploma.Department of Economics graduates can be a/an specialist , assistant specialist , inspector , assistant inspector ,auditor , assistant auditor ,controller , such as titles and various career professionals in the public sector,as they say in the private sector in various fields (banking,finance,marketing,accounting etc.) gualified and prestigious jobs  are available.

 The purpose of the Master's program is that equipping  students with advanced economic theory and  research methods  . PhD program aims to educate young scientists for  the universities and research institutions
